The Challenge
The existing BMX track was to be renovated to Olympic standards and be used for both major events, high performance training and local rider development. This is a world class venue.
The Results
The 425 m (1,395 ft) long track features dual start ramps, multiple straightaways, state-of-the-art stadium lighting (45 foot-candle) and ProGate start system.
In addition to the BMX track, the facility has the following amenities: Timing system, One-man gate setup, Staging Team Area, Parking, Restrooms, Concession and Grandstands.
The Skills
Windemuller provided a complete overhaul of the electrical system and lighting for the new world class Sarasota BMX track, including:
- installation of new transformer
- main distribution panels
- electrical sub-panels throughout the complex
- power to the new Musco lighting system
- power to the compressor for pneumatic ProGate start system
